These are times that no one will forget for generations to come. Though they are very painful, frustrating, confusing, and scary – these are the conditions of change. It takes immense pressure [and time] to make a diamond.
While our fight-or-flight instinct is strongly dialed toward fight – we feel that navigating change is similar to surfing. There is a time to paddle-out and there is a time to surf, but there is also a time in-between to float and assess. That “float time,” as we call it, is crucial. It’s a time to collect yourself and to strategize your best next course of action.
So wherever these times may find you, please take a moment to float – properly assess where you’ve been, where you are right now, and mindfully plan where you can or should go next.
Be safe, be kind, and be strong.
